How To Turn YouTube Videos Into CRAZY Profitable Email Newsletters With ChatGPT

In this video, I will show you the simple AI workflow that I believe can make email newsletter millionaires.

In fact, I found a very successful newsletter, and they're likely building a 7-figure business with this formula. I'll show it to you a bit later…

This workflow enables anyone, even if you have no experience, to make email newsletters that print cash like clockwork.

And if you stick to the end, I have a bonus ChatGPT prompt you could use to supercharge the entire process.

Let's get into it.

I found an insanely popular newsletter doing something similar (although there's no way to know if they're using AI to help with this)

Every day, they take a longform podcast interview with a startup opinion leader and summarize the main insights of the video in their daily newsletter.

At the end of each newsletter, they link to the full video that they were summarizing.

Typically, these videos run for 30+ minutes, some of them even go on for hours!

Who has the time to sit through hours of videos every day?

Thousands of people subscribe to Startup Archive because they take the most helpful parts of these videos and sum them up in just 1-2 minutes a day instead of an hour.

This content workflow has gotten them over 250,000 followers across their socials and millions of impressions every month.

The AI workflow I'm about to show you uses the same formula, and if you apply it, you could build a newsletter that's just as popular.

Step 1: Find a YouTube Video

Find a video in your niche that you think your readers might find helpful.

Step 2: Grab the Transcript

To do this, I use a free tool called "Toasty AI":

In this example, I grabbed the transcript for this video:

Step 3: Prepare ChatGPT

Next, head over to ChatGPT and prepare it for the task.

We're basically briefing it on what we want it to do.

Use this prompt:

Please act as my expert content assistant. In the following message, I will provide you with the transcript of a YouTube video titled """VIDEO TITLE """ by """UPLOADER NAME""". Once I do that, I want you to read the video transcript thoroughly so that you have a comprehensive understanding of its contents. After you read and understand its contents, I will provide you with additional instructions so that you can repurpose the contents of that video transcript into an issue for my email newsletter. Do you understand?

Here's what it looked like for me:

You might want to tweak the prompt to your liking, as well as giving it multiple tries.

Usually, it takes a few tries with ChatGPT before you get what you're looking for.

So if your first result isn't what you were looking for, adjust & repeat until you strike gold.

Step 6: Come Up With the Newsletter Body

Here, we'll be coming up with the main contents of the newsletter.

This workflow is setup so that ChatGPT will write about the 3 main takeaways it got from the video - but if you want your newsletter to have a different format, feel free to adjust the following prompt to your liking:

The body of the newsletter will be 3 insights/takeaways from the video that will improve the reader's life. Based on the contents of the transcript I gave you earlier, give me 10 possible takeaways we could write about. For each insight, please provide an accompanying quote from the transcript that supports the insight. We will use the quote in the newsletter. After you do this, I will ask you to write the body of the newsletter based on my 3 favorite insights from your list.

This prompt is asking ChatGPT to review the transcript and come up with 10 possible takeaways to write about.

We won't be having it write out all 10.

We'll be picking our top 3 takeaways and having it go from there.

Here's what that looks like in my example chat:

Step 7: Write Your Insights

After ChatGPT gives you 10 potential insights to write on, pick your favorite 3 insights & have it write them out.

This is the prompt for that:

Great. Let's write the body of the newsletter based on insights X, Y & Z For each insight, write an engaging title that engages the reader and gives an adequate description of the insight. Remember to incorporate the quote from the list at the beginning of each insight. Under each title, write 2-4 paragraphs describing the insight in an engaging, interesting, descriptive, & persuasive way. Add as much detail as possible. The contents of each insight should give the reader something to takeaway so that they are able to enhance their life. Remember to draw from the contents of the transcript and not to just make things up.

Step 8: Add Your Commentary

For this step, you'll be adding your own two cents to each of the insights you got out of ChatGPT.

You don't have to write an essay here - just a sentence or two for each insight is honestly good enough.

Think of it like writing a tweet for each insight.

You can also contribute links you think might be helpful or relevant to each of the insights ChatGPT came up with.

Think of the newsletter TL;DR - their entire content strategy is curating valuable links and sending them out in a daily email. If you're not familiar with TL;DR, they're an amazing newsletter brand with a crazy profitable business model.

I cover their story here:

Step 9: Write Your Conclusion

After we write out the main portion of our newsletter, it's time to wrap it up.

For that, we'll use this conclusion:

Step 10: Tweak & Publish

Take all of the components ChatGPT made for you & make your adjustments.

Think of it like this.

ChatGPT is your staff writer and you're the editor in chief.

Take the work of ChatGPT, modify it to your liking, compile it in your newsletter, then publish!

Step 11: PROFIT!

Newsletters are an amazing sales channel.

It's ridiculous how many different ways you can monetize newsletters

There's not one way to make money with newsletters - this will differ depending on your niche and how your business operates.

To get a better idea on how to monetize, check out this video I made on newsletter monetization:

BONUS TIP

You can include a summary generated by the tool NotebookLM to enhance the quality of your newsletter.

If you didn't know, NotebookLM is a free tool put out by Google that produces AI-generated podcasts based on YouTube videos, PDFs, website links, blog articles, and basically whatever you can feed it.

A lot of newsletters have been using NotebookLM generated podcasts inside of their newsletters.

When you send the newsletters made with this workflow, you can include a NotebookLM podcast in the newsletter, summarizing the main 3 takeaways of your newsletter.

Just go to notebooklm.google, create a notebook, and add the transcript of the video you're curating as a source.

Here's what it will look like after you do this:

You can add custom prompts to guide the podcast by hitting "customize".

Copy and paste the following custom instructions to get a pretty cool summary of your video to use inside the newsletter issue:

Please summarize the video focusing on these key takeaways: [INSIGHT 1] [INSIGHT 2] [INSIGHT 3]
